Di Giannantonio targets a Misano bounce back
Fabio Di Giannantonio arrives fourth in the MotoGP World Championship standings with 208 points, 48 behind leader Jorge Martin and only 24 off the top three. It has not been an easy run since Aragon, but the Rome native knows the Marco Simoncelli circuit well from his junior category years, when he stood on the podium here more than once. He said the team is pushing hard for its home crowd, with family and friends trackside adding extra motivation. Good data from last year’s round should help, he added, even if the tricky Aragon weekend still offered useful feedback to build on.
Morbidelli chases a top ten with fresh Misano data
Franco Morbidelli sits sixteenth with 53 points, but his history at this VR46 home race runs deep. His maiden MotoGP victory came at this exact track back in 2020, and he heads into the weekend armed with extra data from the World Ducati Week test days held earlier this year. He described the Misano atmosphere as magical and the home crowd as special, and said the goal is turning strong Aragon pace into an actual result on Sunday. Behind his home round in Brazil, he added, this remains the most important weekend of his year.
The team will debut a special jersey for the occasion, blending the flags of Romagna, San Marino and Italy into one design. Fans can pick one up through Kappa Sport, VR46 Tribe, or the circuit store on race weekend.
Free practice runs Friday, with qualifying at 10:50 local time on Saturday. The Sprint follows at 3:00 pm, before Sunday’s main race gets underway at 2:00 pm local time. Two Tavullia natives, one shared ambition: send the home fans away smiling.
