The MotoGP summer break has ended, and the championship now shifts to Silverstone for round twelve of the 2026 season. Consequently, the Pertamina Enduro VR46 Racing Team returns to action with Fabio Di Giannantonio and Franco Morbidelli, aiming to build on a circuit that has already delivered two Sprint podiums for the squad, in 2023 and 2025.
Di Giannantonio Seeks Rebound At Silverstone British GP
Di Giannantonio arrives at the British GP determined to bounce back after a difficult Sachsenring weekend, where a crash dropped him from third to fifth in the championship standings. Nevertheless, the Roman rider still sits fifth overall with 184 points, and he hopes to recreate the Sprint podium he claimed at Silverstone last year. Furthermore, he wants to carry forward the consistency he showed throughout the first half of the season. Ahead of the weekend, he explained that the summer break allowed him to recover fully from a finger injury and train properly on both a Ducati Panigale and a minibike. As a result, he heads to England with confidence, describing the long, flowing layout as one of his favorite tracks on the calendar.
Morbidelli Aims To Build Momentum At Silverstone British GP
Similarly, Morbidelli returns refreshed after the break, hoping to continue the progress he made earlier in the season. He currently sits sixteenth in the standings with 46 points, though Silverstone holds fond memories, including two Moto2 podiums, a second place in 2016 and a third in 2017, plus a best finish of fourth in the premier class. Therefore, he wants to draw on those memories for motivation heading into the second half of the year. In addition, he mentioned working on adjusting his riding style so he can fight nearer to the front. The team will follow a slightly different schedule this weekend, with free practice on Friday, qualifying and the Sprint on Saturday, and the main race concluding the event on Sunday afternoon.
