The afternoon heat at Brno only made the pace hotter, and Fabio Di Giannantonio thrived in it. The Pertamina Enduro VR46 rider climbed to third in Practice at the Czech GP. As a result, he kept his team firmly in the spotlight on a busy Friday.

Di Giannantonio Charges Into Q2 at Brno

The Roman started slowly, ending FP1 down in eighth. However, he found real rhythm once Practice began. He sharpened both his speed and his feel on the Ducati Desmosedici GP.

A lap of 1’51″942 then launched him up the order. The time was quick enough for third, behind only the flying Aprilias of Ai Ogura and Marco Bezzecchi. Therefore, Di Giannantonio sealed a direct Q2 ticket for the seventh weekend running this season.

Afterwards, the Italian admitted the morning had begun with shaky feelings. Still, his crew clarified what to test and nailed the afternoon programme. Moreover, the bike felt sharper than it had in recent races. He left Friday fast, confident, and upbeat about chasing a strong result.

Morbidelli Still Searching for Answers

Across the garage, Franco Morbidelli endured a tougher day. The Italian-Brazilian sat 15th in FP1, then trimmed his time during Practice. Yet his best of 1’52″576 left him 17th overall.

In fact, he missed the direct Q2 cut by roughly two tenths. As a result, he must now fight through Q1 on Saturday. Morbidelli rued the slim margin, though he insisted there is clear room to improve. He also tested a different start, and the new feeling encouraged him.

Qualifying gets underway at 10:50 local time, with the Sprint following at 15:00. Sunday’s grand prix then closes the weekend. For now, Di Giannantonio has VR46 eyeing the front rows once more.
