The moment arrived in the 52nd minute on Saturday. Miura capped a trademark run into the box with a crisp first-time finish. His strike made it 5-0 for Fukushima United against Iwaki Furukawa. Naturally, the Kazuyoshi Miura goal sparked joyous scenes among teammates and the bench.
Fukushima eventually cruised to a 7-0 win to advance in the cup. The veteran forward then made way just three minutes after scoring. In fact, records show he struck at 59 years and 149 days old. It was his first goal since November 2022, when he scored for Suzuka PG, now Atletico Suzuka.
King Kazu Shows No Sign of Stopping
Miura’s career remains one of sport’s great marvels. He made his professional debut for Brazilian giants Santos back in 1986. Since then, he has played in Italy, Croatia, Australia, Portugal and, of course, Japan. Moreover, he became the face of the J.League when it launched in 1993.
His international record shines too. He scored 55 goals in 89 games for Japan. Yet the country famously left him out of their first World Cup squad in 1998.
The story is far from over, either. Miura recently extended his Fukushima loan from Yokohama FC until June 2027. He had joined the third-tier side at the start of 2026 and made six earlier appearances. Therefore, he will enter a staggering 42nd professional season. Japan’s switch to an autumn-spring calendar means his journey stretches on further still. King Kazu has long vowed to play into his 60s. Fittingly, this latest Kazuyoshi Miura goal proves he still belongs on the pitch.
