The MotoGP paddock heads to the iconic Automotodrom Brno this weekend. Pertamina Enduro VR46 Racing Team arrives with momentum, and both riders are hungry for results. After a week away from the track, Fabio Di Giannantonio and Franco Morbidelli are gearing up for the Czech GP, the ninth round of the 2026 MotoGP season.
VR46 Czech GP 2026: Di Giannantonio Rides Through Injury
Di Giannantonio comes into Brno carrying a finger injury from the Barcelona crash. During the break, he underwent a surgical dressing on the fifth finger of his left hand. Despite that, he has confirmed he will compete without restrictions. He currently sits 3rd in the World Championship with 138 points. Moreover, he knows this circuit well. He claimed victory here in 2018 in Moto3, and additionally took podiums in both 2016 and 2019 at the same track.
Speaking ahead of the weekend, Di Giannantonio was direct about his ambitions. He described Brno as one of the finest circuits on the calendar. Furthermore, he made his target clear: fight for the win. The confidence in the VR46 camp is high, and he plans to keep that momentum going through the Czech GP and beyond.
Morbidelli Returns to Brno After Missing 2025
Meanwhile, Morbidelli carries a different kind of motivation into this weekend. He missed last year’s Czech GP entirely due to injury. As a result, this marks his first appearance at Brno since 2020, when he finished second. He currently sits 14th in the standings with 40 points. However, the team worked hard during the break, digging into data to understand the grip issues limiting his recent pace.
Morbidelli was candid about the process. He expressed confidence in the work done, and noted the team has gathered substantial data to arrive at Brno with real solutions in hand.
Friday brings free practice. Saturday features Qualifying at 10:50 and the Sprint race at 15:00 local time. The main race then gets underway Sunday at 14:00. For Di Giannantonio, Brno is a chance to extend a title charge. For Morbidelli, it is about proving the comeback is real.
