Fermín Aldeguer will race for the Pertamina Enduro VR46 Racing Team starting in 2027, and he will stay with the squad through the following season as well. The Spanish rider, currently in his second MotoGP campaign, will therefore become an official Ducati Corse rider and receive a factory-spec Desmosedici GP.
Aldeguer VR46 Ducati Deal Confirms Factory Ride
Aldeguer built his reputation early, winning regional and national titles in Spain before moving on to European competitions. Consequently, he entered the World Championship in 2021 through MotoE, and his performances there soon opened the door to Moto2, where he quickly became one of the category’s most sought-after talents. After stepping up to MotoGP in 2025, he collected three podiums and claimed his first premier-class victory at the Indonesian Grand Prix, a result that made him the second-youngest winner in MotoGP history. He also finished his rookie season inside the top ten and earned the Rookie of the Year award. Meanwhile, this season has proven tougher: Aldeguer currently sits eleventh in the standings with a single podium in Barcelona, having missed three races through injury. Nevertheless, he says his goal for 2027 is to adapt quickly to the new regulations, the new tyres and the new factory machine, while working closely with Ducati’s engineers to remain competitive.
Team Bosses Praise Aldeguer VR46 Ducati Partnership
Team director Alessio Salucci welcomed the signing, noting that Aldeguer showed enormous talent from his very first MotoGP race and that VR46 will offer him full support as an official Ducati Corse rider. Similarly, Ducati Corse general manager Gigi Dall’Igna pointed to Aldeguer’s rapid learning and determination, adding that the manufacturer sees the VR46 environment as ideal for nurturing young talent. Team manager Pablo Nieto echoed that confidence, describing Aldeguer as mature beyond his years and capable of competing at the highest level, and pledged full backing as he pursues his most ambitious targets yet.
