Fabio Di Giannantonio laid down an early statement at his home race, going fastest in both Friday sessions at Mugello to give Pertamina Enduro VR46 Racing Team the perfect Italian GP start.

The Roman rider led the way in a rain-affected FP1 before backing it up in the dry afternoon Practice, clocking a best lap of 1’44″808 to top the timesheets. What made it more impressive was that Diggia was not at full physical fitness, dealing with a finger injury throughout the day while still finding the pace to outrun the entire field.

Teammate Franco Morbidelli matched the positive mood with a solid Friday of his own. The Italian-Brazilian ended the day 4th overall with a best lap of 1’44″959, securing a direct Q2 spot and showing real momentum carried over from the Barcelona test.

Diggia admitted he was surprised to lead both sessions given how he felt physically, but stressed the bike balance felt natural without needing major setup changes. Morbidelli was equally upbeat, noting a red flag had cut short what could have been an even faster time attack lap in the afternoon.

With both riders locked into Q2 and the home crowd already buzzing, Pertamina Enduro VR46 heads into Saturday’s qualifying and Sprint race with genuine podium ambitions.
